Master the Art of Smoky Eyeliner with EyeBreakfast Cosmetics
If there's one makeup look that transcends time and trend, it's the
smoky eyelinerlook. When I started in the world of makeup, I struggled getting the smokey eye look. My lines were wobbly, uneven, and anything but smoky. However, the magic truly unfolds when you
blendand
layer. So if you’re looking for that
smokylook around your eyes without the dark circle look, follow along with these steps! Let's get into it!
Step 1: Prime Your Eyes
Before any eyeshadow or eyeliner, apply an eye primer. It creates a smooth canvas for your makeup, making it last longer. Get yourself a good primer like this one from e.l.f.
This Primer is mineral infused and works wonderfully well for preparing your skin to receive and keep on makeup. Which is our next step!
Step 2: Outline with Eyeliner Pencil
Now, take a soft eyeliner pencil in black like this pencil from NYX
or this neutral brown pencil from RUDE
The RUDE pencil comes with a built in smudge brush which is a great tool for achieving the
smudgy look. These are great choices and my recommendations for a smoky look. Start by drawing a line as close as possible to your lash line. Don't worry about precision; we'll be smudging it later.
Step 3: Blend, Blend, Blend!
Use a smudging brush like this one
to softly blend the line you've drawn, pulling the color slightly upward and outward. This is the step that elevates your eyeliner from "lined" to "smoky." Start out with
soft strokesthen blend upwards to achieve the
smudgeand a soft
fade.
Step 4: Layer with Eyeshadow
Pick a coordinating
eyeshadow colorand lightly tap it over the blended liner. This sets your eyeliner and adds dimension.
: a hint of shimmer can make your eyes pop. Here are some shimmer pallets you will love!
Step 5: Finishing Touches
Apply
Mascarato tie the look together. A swipe of EyeBreakfast’s RUDE "Sultry Eyes" will bring all the drama you need.
Now you're all set to rock that smoky eyeliner look! See, that wasn’t so bad! If you're a fan of anime or cosplay, this technique will level up your eye game for any character you're channeling.
And remember,
practice makes perfect. So don't be too hard on yourself if you don't get it right on the first try.
