The Secret to a Facelift Look,...

The Secret to a Facelift Look, No Surgery Required!

So, you want to look lifted and youthful or like almost every Korean celebrity or idol, but the idea of going under the knife makes you cringe? You're not alone! Whether you're new to makeup or a pro, a strategically-applied face of makeup can give you that coveted

lifted

look. I’m going to walk you through some easy application steps that will have you feeling more youthful in no time. Grab a pen, take notes and let’s get started!

Step 1: Primer is Key

Starting with a smooth face is crucial for any makeup application, especially when you're aiming for a lifted look. A good

primer

not only helps makeup adhere better but can also fill in fine lines. EyeBreakfast offers an array of primers that cater to different skin types. Choose one that suits you, but if you need a quick recommendation, pick up

I’ve been using this primer lately and absolutely love the results. It helps fill my pores and fine lines and leaves my face feeling smooth and primed for foundation, which is our next step ;)

Step 2: Foundation – Less is More

Use a

foundation

that matches your skin tone and apply sparingly. Remember, caking on makeup can accentuate lines, making you look older (no cake face). A lightweight formula can offer good coverage while letting your natural beauty shine through. If you’re circling foundations in your makeup bag and don’t know what to try, pick up EyeBreakfasts’

This foundation is amazing, especially for a ‘face lift’ look. It’s long lasting, goes on smooth and evens out skin tone. This will help accentuate your skin's tone leaving you with a natural look.

Step 3: Master the Art of Contouring

This is where the real transformation happens. Apply a dark

contour shade

just below your cheekbones and a light highlighter on the top of your cheekbones. The contrast between the dark and light shades creates an optical illusion, making your face appear lifted.

Tip

: A real face lift is called a “lift” for a reason. When applying contouring lines, work in upward strokes. Get used to this motion. Apply and lift! Which is a good transition to our next step, “lift those lids”.

Step 4: Eye Makeup – Lift Those Lids

The eyes are the window to the soul, and they're also the focus of a lifted look. Utilize a palette of neutral eyeshadows to create depth. Also, apply a white or nude eyeliner on your waterline to open up your eyes, making them appear larger and more lifted. I would recommend

It covers a wide spectrum of skin tones from light to dark. You can play with neutral shades on almost all skin tone color tonalities with this ten color pallet, and great for contouring!

Step 5: The Right Brow Arch

When I first started experimenting with makeup, my eyebrows were a complete disaster—a straight line with no arch, like none! Little did I know, the right arch could provide an instant lifting effect. Always remember to fill in your brows in an upward direction.

is your friend when contouring. Say it aloud and practice this motion.

Step 6: Seal the Deal

Finally, set your makeup with a good setting spray. A dewy finish spray

will give you a youthful glow while locking in your hard work.

So there you have it, a simple way to achieve a lifted and youthful appearance without resorting to drastic measures.
